OTHER TEXO JOBS
DRAPER HOUSE
square meters
With an occupied residential building like Draper House, special consideration was needed to ensure resident’s safety as well as maintaining the living environment with major works of this scale taking place.
Texo, in partnership with GH Preston, took enormous care in the planning and execution of the scheduled work, ensuring residents and businesses within the estate were able to function normally. You can read about residents’ early concerns in an article that appeared in London The Evening Standard.
The substantial scaffold designs and grounds at the base of the building threw up potential problems for traders and businesses. The need for large-scale scaffold beams directly over properties – while not closing them down – could have impacted on trade and deterred customers.
Creating and maintaining a dialogue with the businesses was key to keeping everyone happy and the work on schedule. The erection of illuminated temporary signage for the affected traders was just one was we were able to minimalise the impact on trading conditions.
