This historic building is where Churchill was said to have stood and watched the air raids coming over London in World War Two. It is set on the Embankment directly adjacent to the savoy Hotel. The scheme consisted of full stone restoration and cleaning.
This building is a fully occupied working building, including trading floors, therefore the need for quiet working hours was of upmost importance as to cause as little disruption as possible.
The scaffold was a full design of Independent, gantries, Hoist towers, staircases, hanging scaffolds & crash decks.
"A very challenging project, in which the design was particularly complex, including having a steel frame designed & installed to allow the weight of scaffold to be erected in the Lightwell area, all of which were carried out in 10 hour night shifts, as we could not carry out the works during the day. The operatives were excellent in their attitude and work ethic."
